BUCKHORN on Caribou Lake Resort preserves the quaint feel of an old time resort with our classic cottages, and combines that with our luxurious hand-crafted log lodges, offering all the modern conveniences of home.

We have well spaced cabins, all on the Shores of Minnesota's clearest lake, and located in the center of the Chippewa National Forest.

Our cabins DO NOT have TV's, VCR's, telephones and other stress related contributers. But... we do accept VISA and MasterCard. Telephones are located in the Log Lodge.

There are several country churches in the area which welcome summer visitors. A variety of dining, shopping, tennis courts and several golf courses are also located in the surrounding area.

Skiing, Hiking and Biking Trails:

Suomi Hills - 34.3 kms. of intermediate to expert tracked trails through rolling hill and lakes. A five minute drive.
Amen Lake Trails - 6.9 kms. of beginner to intermediate tracked trails. Links up to Suomi Trails or take 15 minute drive to trailhead.
Trout Lake/Joyce Estate Trail - 10 kms. of beginner to intermediate double tracked trails, leads to an abandoned 1920s Adirondack estate. 15 minute drive to either end of the trailhead.
Blueberry Hills - 12 kms. of intermediate to expert trails. Both tracked and skating lanes. 20 minute drive to trailhead.

Wabana Trails - 9.7 kms. of beginner to intermediate tracked trails along creeks and streams. 20 minute drive to trail.
Scenic State Park - 16.1 kms. of intermediate tracked trails through this historic state park system. 30 minute drive to park.
Mount Itasca - A small, affordable downhill and ski jump, with 4.8 kms of X-country trails through glacial morianes and ravines. 30 minute drive from resort.
Sugar Hills - 28 kms. of tracked and skate trails, within a 40 minute drive.
Legion trails - 3.5 kms. of lit track and skate trails, within a 40 minute drive.
Forest History Trail - 4.5 kms. through 1900 logging camp, within a 40 minute drive.
