Each of our log lodges feel like your own private lake home. Situated on it’s own 200 feet of lakeshore with a private yard, dock and deck on the shore of Caribou lake, fire ring, and large parking area. Our 2 new small log cottages are just feet from the lake, and our recently built log pavilion is a beautiful spot for weddings and gatherings.


Situated on 40 wooded acres surrounded by State, Federal, and county land, Hike our private trails or explore the many trails available to you in this national forest area.

Information for all the cabins

  • Firewood is available for purchase on-site.
  • Please inquire about our pet policy when booking.
  • A minimum stay of three nights is required during holidays.
  • Summer rentals run from Saturday to Friday.
  • Christmas and New Year’s stays require a minimum of four nights.

A perfect cabin for a romantic getaway

Tiny year round log cabin for 2 with a screen porch just feet from the lake and a dock for your enjoyment. Built in 2017, this new cabin is perfect for those intrigued by tiny structures and a place for an affordable romantic vacation. The cabin has a queen bed, perfect for a couple, a couple friends.  In the warm season there’s a twin bed on the porch for  a father, son or mother daughter get-away.


Swim, fish Lake Trout, hunt the Chippewa National forest, and just relax.


Located near the Suomi Ski hills for your winter enjoyment, or a ride down our long driveway takes you to a snowmobile trail.

LOVE SHACK

One bedroom Log Cabin sleeps up to 6 people.

This new hand crafted log cabin is just feet from the lake. It feels like an old time classic log cabin with a new flair, with a deck overlooking beautiful Caribou Lake. Full kitchen, gas fireplace. The bedroom hosts a king size bed which can be converted to two twin beds, with a trundle bed for two and a futon in the common area.


Along with your cabin you’ll enjoy a large dock with access to canoes, rowboats, and a place to dock your personal boat.

All of our cabins are available year-round. In summer, enjoy the lake’s crystal-clear waters for swimming, fishing, or just floating with a good book. In winter, warm up with a sauna inside your log cabin after a day of snowshoeing or skiing the nearby trails. Each season offers a unique view of the forest and lake, and our cabins are designed to keep you comfortable through it all.

Cabin FAQs

  • How far are the cabins from the lake?

    All cabins are within 100 feet of the lake and include private docks, offering guests direct access to their own peaceful stretch of shoreline.

  • Are pets allowed?

    During the summer season, we allow one pet per cabin, offering more flexibility compared to other times of the year. Please inquire about our pet policy for specific details and kindly keep pets off the furniture. We are generally more lenient with pet accommodations during the off-season.

  • Is there Wi-Fi or cell service?

    Buckhorn is a retreat from modern noise, and while excellent Wi-Fi is available in each cabin, we encourage unplugging to reconnect with nature.

  • Can I book a specific cabin?

    Yes! Let us know your preferred cabin and dates—we’ll do our best to accommodate.
