Travel Scenic Byway 38 through the Suomi Hills for a weekend of Skiing, Snowshoeing, Saunas, Ice fishing, and total Relaxation.

What could be better than a day of cross country skiing followed by a nice hot sauna, a home cooked meal, and an evening of fun and refreshment around the big stone fireplace and a crackling wood fire.

The area surrounding the cabin is home to some of the finest cross-country ski trails in the entire midwest. Just minutes away is the Suomi Hills ski area. Three access points will lead you to 35 Km of groomed trails winding between hills, valleys and lakes in the Chippewa National Forest. Located along the Laurentian Divide, this geography insures a longer ski season than most any other part of the State.

Or drive a little further to one of our 22 groomed cross country ski trails. From Mount Itasca which is home to the Olympian Junior Worlds Ski Jump and Biathlon team qualifying events, and cross country trails with snow making ability, and a small Down Hill ski course. There’s something for everybody. Or ski late into the night with the lit trails on the Legion Park Trail.

You could come year after year and ski a new trail each time.
